Game retailer GameStop announced on Friday that CEO Michael Mauler resigned from his position, three months after taking the position. The company's board of directors has appointed company co-founder Daniel DeMatteo as interim chief executive officer.
Entertainment news magazine Variety quoted a statement from a GameStop spokesperson who said that Mauler resigned due to personal reasons, and not, "due to any disagreement with the Company regarding its financial reporting, policies or practices, or any potential fraud relating thereto."
