Theater production company CORNFLAKES announced on Saturday that a stage play adaptation of the Super Danganronpa 2 ~Sayonara Zetsubo Gakuen~ (Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Academy) has been green-lit, and that it will be producing the play. The play will be performed from December 3 to 13 at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi venue in Tokyo, and Ryūsei Yokohama (seen right) will play the lead Hajime Hinata.
Kei Horie is returning from the first Danganronpa stage play to serve as producer, and Masahiro Yoshida is producing the show with Pia's Seiichi Sometani. Fumiya Matsuzaki will take over as director, and Spike Chunsoft's Kazutaka Kodaka will once again direct the play's scenario. Masafumi Takada, the composer for the original Danganronpa 2 game, will compose the music.
The previous Danganronpa play adapted the first game Spike Chunsoft's video game series, and premiered last year.
Spike Chunsoft released the second game in the franchise in Japan for the PlayStation Portable in 2012, and the game was included in the PS Vita port Danganronpa 1-2 Reload in 2013. NIS America released the game in English in North America and Europe last September.
