Bandai Reveals Kamisama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama Fall Anime Series
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Bandai revealed via a new website and an announcement video on Thursday that it is producing the Kami-sama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama (God Apprentices: Secretive Cocotama) television anime series. The series will premiere on Tokyo TV and other channels this fall.
The website explains that "Cocotama" are tiny gods born from the thoughts and feelings of objects that people use with great care. The fact that Cocotama wear part of the egg they hatch out of as underwear is proof that they are still apprentices. The Cocotama use a mysterious magic, and they train hard to be of use to humans and to become full gods. They live inside human houses and stealthily move around to help humans find things they have lost, although they make many mistakes.
The various Cocotama that will appear in the show include (from left to right):
- Rakitama, who was born from a colored pencil
- Melori, who was born from a piano
- Oshaki, who was born from a book
- Kirarisu, who was born from a stick of lipstick
- Geracho, who was born from a TV
- Mogutan, who was born from a fork
The anime is also spawning its own toy line.
