Code Geass: Akito the Exiled #4 Sells 18,521 to Top Blu-ray Chart

The limited first edition of the fourth Blu-ray volume of the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled original video anime series sold 18,521 copies in its first week, and ranked #1 on both the Oricon animation Blu-ray chart and the overall Blu-ray chart. It is the third volume in the series to top the overall Blu-ray chart. The Blu-ray shipped on October 28.
Among the series' Blu-ray Disc releases, the first volume sold 24,507 copies in its first week, and also ranked #1 in the animation Blu-ray chart. The second volume sold 24,134 copies in its first week, ranked at #2 in the animation Blu-ray chart. The third volume sold 20,731 copies in its first week in June, and also ranked at #1 in the animation Blu-ray chart.
The spinoff series' fourth episode premiered in selected Japanese theaters on July 4. The Blu-ray includes a picture drama, trailers and commercials, audio commentary, liner notes, postcards, and a slipcase with art by Takahiro Kimura.
The Code Geass: Akito the Exiled series is a spinoff of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series. Set in between the two seasons of the original series during the Britannian invasion of Europe, Akito the Exiled centers around Akito Hyuga, a member of the "W-0" unit, a suicide outfit of exiled Japanese (Elevens) sent to the battlefield to perform dangerous missions against Britannia, with only a 5% survival rate.
The series' fifth episode is premiering on February 6.
