Sylph Manga Magazine Ceases Publication, New 'Pixiv Sylph' Online Magazine Launches This Summer

The August issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Sylph magazine (cover pictured at right) announced on Thursday that the magazine will cease publication as of the September issue, which will go on sale on July 22. Kadokawa plans to launch the "pixiv Sylph" free online manga magazine sometime this summer.
The new free online magazine will feature the works that are currently ongoing in Sylph, and will also re-serialize some of the magazine's popular finished manga. Manga currently serialized in the magazine includes:

- Kimi ga Shinanai Hi no Gohan
- Collab Mijikashi Tsudoeyo Otome
- Saku-chan to Nozomi-kun
- Home, Honey Home

MediaWorks launched Sylph in December 2006 as a quarterly magazine titled comic SYLPH, and the magazine was a special edition of Monthly Dengeki Comic GAO!. The magazine switched to a bimonthly publication in 2008, and then to a monthly publication in 2010. When the magazine switched to a monthly publication in 2010, the tagline for the magazine was "heart throbbing moe girls comics." The magazine has published many manga adaptations of otome visual novels and games, and has also published original works intended for female readers.
