AnimeNEXT to Host Directors Kenji Kamiyama, Shinji Aramaki

The official Twitter account for New Jersey-based anime convention AnimeNext announced on Thursday that it will host directors Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) at its 2018 convention.
Kamiyama and Aramaki are co-directing the 2019 anime of Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi's Ultraman manga and a new anime based on Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell manga.
Kamiyama began his career as a background artist when he joined Studio Fuuga in 1985, and he made his directorial debut with Mini Pato. His notable works as a director and writer include Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East, and, most recently, the Napping Princess anime film.
Aramaki worked as a designer for many popular franchises including Transformers, Genesis Climber Mospeada (adapted into Robotech), Bubblegum Crisis, Gasaraki, s-CRY-ed, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO: The Hidden One Year War, and Captain Earth. He also directed the CG anime film Captain Harlock, as well as Appleseed, Appleseed: Ex Machina, and the Appleseed Alpha film.
AnimeNEXT 2018 will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey from June 8-10. Previously announced guests include voice actors Bryce Papenbrook and Johnny Yong Bosch.
