4K Akira Will Have Cinema Release in the U.K, Ireland

Manga Entertainment has released the 31-second second trailer above for the U.K. and Ireland cinema release of a 4K edition of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's 1988 film Akira. A website for the release is now available at https://akira4k.co.uk/, where fans can sign up for ticket alerts.
According the site, the film will be released in cinemas nationwide, including IMAX cinemas. The release is described as "soon," and "for a limited time only."
The film was originally released in Japan in 1988, directed by Katsuhiro Ōtomo and adapted from his own epic manga. The website describes the film as follows:
"Neo-Tokyo, 2019. The city is being rebuilt post World War III. Kaneda and Tetsuo, two high school drop outs, stumble on a secret government project to develop new weapons - telekinetic humans. Tetsuo learns of the existence of his 'peer', Akira, the project's most powerful subject, and determines to challenge him..."
