At six years old, Sailor Moon is what inspired me to become an artist, and I can proudly say I am now a successful freelancer (Linda Ballantyne even has one of my pieces!). Many of my artistic endeavors began through a spark of creativity supplied by SM. I created a SM parody series for 6 years, a SM live action short film (with nearly two million views on YouTube), countless pieces of fanart, numerous cosplays, and I hope this is only the beginning! SM has shaped my life, my dreams, and my relationships, and it couldn't mean more to me!

I can't really describe the feeling I have for this wonderful girl. When I was seven I would sneak onto the computer after school and watch Sailor Moon until I lost track of time. Eventually, watch Sailor Moon caused something inside me to want to watch more like this series and so I started watch more anime until the present time. Thanks to Sailor Moon, I have met many friends I can share my story with of being shaped by this magnificent series. If I had to describe this series with one word it would be "magical."

Sailor Moon introduced me to the world of garage kit building with my first purchase in 1997. While I was always artistic, I had no idea how difficult it was to build my first garage kit. I had to really push myself so that my kits looked just as good as the reference photos. This Musasiya set of Super Sailor Moon and Chibimoon is one of my absolute favorites. Eventually my collection expanded to include kits from other series as well, but if not for Sailor Moon I would have never known about garage kits.

My love for Sailor Moon inspired me to have a passion for art. Beginning with simple drawings in 1995, I developed all my art skills because of Sailor Moon and I cannot imagine my life without art in it. I completed this diorama of Usagi transforming in front of Mamoru in 2011. It is the best of my sculpting collection and the one I put the most effort into and worked the hardest on. Both figures were sculpted from scratch and hand painted, with the working time spread over many months.

As a male the Sailor Moon series helped me in realizing that I should ignore stereotypes and to not be embarrassed on liking a show that focuses on female characters and that I should not be afraid of showing it off, for example, going to school with Sailor Moon school supplies and wearing tee shirts from the series.

Sailor Moon inspires me to embrace my inner child and to always follow my heart and my dreams. Which, in turn, helped me discover my true passion and push me to pursue my Master's Degree and become a School Counselor. I may not be a sailor suited soldier saving planet Earth but in my student's eyes I am a hero in another way, fighting for not only love and justice, but advocating for their safety and their support. Because of Sailor Moon I am who I am today, a creative, imaginative, strong-willed School Counselor and Moonie for life!

Sailor Moon is one of the most important things to me. It helped cement many of my friendships (we each were a senshi!) and taught me that no matter how hard things can get, anything can be accomplished with the support of your friends. Sailor Moon Says! ♥

I often wish I could be a Sailor Soldier of love and justice like Sailor Moon. Growing up my Mom was in the hospital a lot. When I was 3 we were in a car accident, to save my life she threw me and took the full blow of the car. Since then she has not been able to walk on her own and now after a recent leg amputation she is back in a wheelchair. I dream of being able to use magic like Moon Healing Escalation
to help my friends and family as well as vanquish my enemies.

Sailor Moon has been my favorite show since I was six years old. It taught me important life lessons but most importantly to be loyal to your friends and to never give up even when things seem hopeless. Sailor Moon also taught me to see the good in people even when nobody else can see it. Sailor Moon herself was my role model and I would like to think that I am who I am today because of the anime and the good influence it had on me growing up. Once a moonie, always a moonie. :)

I was never really good at making friends. I was always the person no one wanted to talk to. The only thing that was the light in my miserable life was watching sailor moon every day. She made me feel like I had a friend she was fake but to me sailor moon was my best friend. Once I got into High School I met 2 girls who felt the same way and became close friends . We now have a sailor moon cosplay group. Thank you sailor moon for helping me and so many other people around the world

What does Sailor Moon mean to me?
She is inspiration for all of us. Sailor Moon taught me that when times are hardest, all you have to do is have confidence in yourself and anything is possible! I may be clumsy and a bit of a crybaby just like Usagi, but as long as I believe in myself, I can accomplish anything. I can see good in everyone. I can be a friend to those that need me. I can stand up for what I believe in, and most importantly, I can succeed!

Sailor Moon was my first anime ever, before I even knew what anime was. I first started watching it when I was in elementary school. I would always stand in front of the TV dancing and singing to the theme song. I even dress and name my pet rabbits after them (as seen in the picture I submitted).

Five years ago after moving into my new home I began unpacking. After opening one box a deluge of nostalgia was released. In my hands was a Sailor Moon t-shirt from when I was in kindergarten, underneath stickers and a folder from middle school; days of playing pretend Sailor Scouts during recess, waking up early to watch Sailor Moon before going off to kindergarten and trading stickers in middle school played before my eyes. Now roughly twenty years later this Sailor Moon fan has pieces of her childhood retrieved on her wall and in her heart.

Sailor Moon means so much to me because it taught me the value and importance of my female friendships. It was the first show I saw where instead of pitting the girls against each other, they worked as a team to support and love one another. It showed me that my friends and I could be the heroes, charging in valiantly to save the day instead of waiting around to be saved. And most importantly, it showed me that sparkly pink powers of love and friendship can save the world.

Sailor Moon was important to me because it was the first time there was a large group of very different girls (just girls) that where the main focus of a action show that me and all of my sisters could relate to. I've got five sisters, we all look different(and have been taunted for it) & act differently, but we belong together. Watching Sailor Moon and the scouts was like watching ourselves, we could see parallels in every episode. It really helped create this tough girl family bond that we still carry on today.

I just moved from another city, and feeling quite lonely in the new school. I was drawing manga in my notebook, this girl saw and we started to be friends. She introduced me to Sailor Moon and I fell in love with it! I saw myself in Ami, she was shy like me. But I admired Usagi, she was always so happy and lively! I tried to be more like her, and I discovered that I could be stronger I thought. I even did a cosplay group with friends! Now I have more courage to approach people and make friends.

Sailor moon has shown me and my daughter to love our family and friends and to never give up I love Luna sailor moons cat so much….that I also named my cat Luna ^_^ I've owned her for 11 years. It's shown my daughter to never give up and to be cheerful every day and to use her inner strength.

Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight. Never running from a real fight, she is the one named Sailor Moon! Those were my favorite words as a young girl. The pretty guardian Sailor Moon has always held a special place in my heart. I could relate to Usagi. This show taught me the value of friendship. As a child, I would even attempt to perform transformation and attack sequences. I had two soundtracks that I had wore out in my CD player. All in all, Sailor Moon has always and will always be a huge part of my life.

Sailor Moon means to me one of my first Anime's that I fell in love with. It was a factor that sparked my decision to follow my dreams and go to art school, I studied Animation. It also means my first Cosplay, Sailor Mars in her school girl uniform. (That's me on the right as Sailor Mars/Raye Hino)

Sailor Moon helped me as a young girl transition from my life in Germany to my life in the United States. Everything in this new country was so foreign but Sailor Moon was the one consistency through it all. Over the years I indulged myself in the world of Sailor Moon, even learning that I shared a birthday with Usagi and Chibiusa! The biggest lesson Sailor Moon taught me is that is okay to be you.Sailor Moon was always my hero with her crybaby tendencies, hand in hand with her loyalty to her friends. In her I saw myself.

Ever since I was little, I've wanted to be Sailor Moon. She becomes such a strong and admirable character, and seeing her growth is inspirational. The fact that we share the same birthday (June 30th) had me convinced that I /would/ one day have magical sailor girl powers. I had all the toys - so many hours spent twirling, shouting, hoping to transform. Now that I'm older the toys have disappeared, but I still find myself posing, even if everyone else is clueless as to my antics. I'll still fight in the name of love and justice one day!

Sailor Moon is a series about a girl who feels like she's bad at everything. She gets bad grades, she's clumsy, she cries a lot. She even gets scared when she fights a monster. But eventually she finds the strength to stand and fight. To an 8-year-old autistic child, this was the hero I could look up to. I could relate to her flaws, but more importantly her strength, courage and love gave me hope that even if I felt like I was bad at everything, that I too could make a difference. She will always be my hero.

I have watched many magical-girl themed animes ever since I was a child. Unfortunately, I have not watched majority of them to rank A to Z. One reigns true is that I was lucky enough to watch it in the early 90s and then re-watch the seasons in DVD to appreciate it's splendor. Out of my anime favorites in the genre, I will always say that Sailor Moon deserves to be at the top — recognizable and revered, even it is in my own heart. Thus I drew a tattoo design because of Sailor Moon.

Since I was born in the early 90's, Sailor Moon was my first girl anime. I remember getting so excited, and rushing home from kindergarten and turning the t.v. on to watch it! I was also not the healthiest kid, and when I got sick, watching it made my day! Sailor Moon led me to a whole different side to creativity other shows didn't have, and inspired me to draw and pursue art. Today, I am pursuing my love of art by applying colleges to get my animation training! Thank you Naoko Takeuchi, Toei Animation and DIC Entertainment for everything!

In kindergarten, my friends and I always wanted to play superhero games. We quickly fell in love with Sailor Moon, because it was the only show with enough female superheroes. Eventually, we started calling each other by our Sailor Scout alter-ego identities; I was Sailor Jupiter.
This drawing is of five-year-old me, looking into the mirror and seeing the strong, powerful, feminine Sailor Jupiter that I wanted to be like when I grew up.
Sailor Moon also sparked in me a love for Japanese culture, leading me to become a Japanese major in college.

Sailor Moon was my hero when I was little, who also opened up the world of anime, manga, and art for me. Which without the three, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

Ever since I started watching Sailor Moon (when I was about eight), I have been in love with the inspirational characters, amazing plot line, and gorgeous animation. it has inspired my artwork and given me ideas for a manga/anime of my own. My art has come a long way (see the picture)! Also, ever since I started watching Sailor Moon, Serena has been one of my role models. She may not be perfect, but she's a great friend. Sailor Moon is, and will always be, my favorite anime. Thank you Sailor Moon!

Sailor Moon has literally changed every aspect of my life. From my drawing style to my circle of friends. The most important however is that I met my husband on a school trip in '98 because of our mutual love for Sailor Moon. Only knowing me for two hours, he went through the trouble of dragging me across the mall so I could buy a Sailor Moon backpack for my collection. We've been inseparable ever since and to this day, 16 years later, still watch, discuss, and collect Sailor Moon together with vigor as if we were kids again.

To me, Sailor Moon means courage! Sailor Moon aired when I was being bullied in Middle School. Through my darkest days, Sailor Moon gave me courage to keep going and be myself. In a way, Sailor Moon saved my life. Sailor Jupiter helped me further to be stronger. Sailor Moon (and other Sailor Senshi) saved many viewers struggling to find something to believe in… and ourselves! I can be strong and a girl! Now old/new fans get to see Sailor Moon again at a time of fear, uncertainty and challenged feminism! So I say: Welcome Back Sailor Moon!

The fandom that changed my life. The show that got me bullied. The magical girl who gave me hope. The VHS tapes that showed me their adventures. The heroines that gave me role models. The moon prism power that gave me strength. The tuxedo that kept me dreamy eyed. The song I sang for the talent show. The community where I found friends. The original sailors and stories we created and roleplayed. The cons where we bought plushies and posters. The cosplay I wore to senior homecoming where I became the princess I thought I never was.

When I was nine years old I started getting bullied by some kids at school because they saw me drawing Sailor Moon and thought it wasn't cool. At first I was upset, and wanted to throw all of my pictures away and pretend to hate it too. But I didn't. I kept watching and drawing Sailor Moon characters, because Sailor Moon taught me something important: Perseverance, and that you can do anything and still be who you are. Today, I'm a school counselor specializing in girl's empowerment, and I still have all of those drawings. Thank you Sailor Moon.

My mother was the one who introduced me to Sailor Moon. Our favorite season was definitely season three, "S". Our favorite soldiers were Sailor Uranus and Neptune. Having seen the original version, my mother was very disappointed the older dub censored Uranus and Neptune's relationship and always wanted this fixed. She sadly passed away from lung cancer back in July 2007. I don't have many memories, but i do remember watching Sailor Moon with her everyday after school. I'm sure if she was still alive, she would be ecstatic that the new dub would be faithful to the original version.

I've never been good at offline socialization. I've spent years drifting from one online community to another. One day, someone I knew linked me to a very funny Sailor Moon parody on a message board he frequented. I liked it so much that I registered just to comment. Years later, I'm still part of that community, and I've had more social interaction there than just about anywhere, and (outside schools) over a longer continuous span of time.
Sailor Moon gave me the closest thing I've ever had to an online home.

Without Sailor Moon, I never would have started drawing. I'm currently attending college to (hopefully) some day be a concept artist for a gaming company. And I still watch Sailor Moon as much as possible to never forget what inspired that little 9 year old girl to start drawing.

I've been drawing Sailor Moon ever since I was little. In middle school I was known as that girl who draws Sailor Moon and to this day everyone knows I still love it. It was a HUGE impact on my life since now I am an animation major. It impacted me also by teaching me valuable lessons on just how to be myself, since I was teased for liking the show. It has shown me not to care and true friends will have you're back. Thanks to Naoko for this wonderful series!

It was a HUGE impact on my life since now I am an animation major. It impacted me also by teaching me valuable lessons on just how to be myself, since I was teased for liking the show. It has shown me not to care and true friends will have you're back. Thanks to Naoko for this wonderful series!

I watched the show with my older sister, who I felt we had very little in common. My mother spent hours on an Eternal Sailor Moon skirt for my costume on Halloween one year. My father, who is no longer with us, took me trick or treating that year. It is one of the most memorable Halloweens I have ever had. Sailor Moon reminds me of better days. She brings a happiness I just can't explain in so few words and only a single picture!

Fifteen years ago I met my wife and introduced her to anime through Sailor Moon. Before school, I used to wake up early and walk to her house so we could watch it on TV. We had matching Sailor Moon T-shirts and lunchboxes. We'd play the card game while watching the show on VHS. (Until they wore out; we have all the DVDs now!) Since then I've painted her a Sailor Moon character for her birthday (my paintings on the left). As happy as I am to see the new series, I'm happier that we get to watch it together.

I had met my husband in high school and he got me into anime through Sailor Moon. We would watch the episodes before and after school. On the way home we would stop by the comic shop and we would buy Mixx-zine (we'd play Jan-Ken-Pon over who got to read them first), the Sailor Scout Guides, or whatever Sailor Moon merchandise we could get. Fifteen year later we're still together and we still love Sailor Moon. Right now we're re-watching the entire series over again to get us ready for Crystal! I can't wait to watch it with him!

I've been debilitatingly sick for over a decade now. I've always loved Sailor Moon since I was little, but it grew tenfold when I was introduced to Hotaru Tomoe/Sailor Saturn. Her own struggles with her health resonated deeply for me. Her strength as a person, a Guardian, and a character as a whole I admire greatly and aspire towards, which is why I make and wear cosplays of her, and collect her merchandise. She, and Sailor Moon as a whole, will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Sailor Moon means so much to me! It's what inspired me to start drawing and creating my own comics. I wanted to create wonderful characters and beautiful art like Naoko Takeuchi did. I've been drawing Sailor Moon fanart since the 8th grade and I wanted my entry to be fanart of my favorite character and what made me pick up a pencil to draw in middle school! Sailor Moon is a series about young women, created by a wonderful woman, and I love its inspiring message of girl power!

I love Sailor Moon so much! I've been a fan for almost 17 years! The series means a lot to me and has shaped my life! Sailor Moon introduced me to anime. My love for it grew from there! Sailor Moon is the reason I got into cosplay. I've always wanted to be her and cosplay allows me to do that. Cosplay is my passion and without Sailor Moon I'm not sure I would have gotten into it. Sailor Moon taught me a lot of things like the value of kindness and friendship! I'm a Moonie for life!

Sailor Moon has been a part of my life for many years. When I watched my first episodes, I remember being amazed how a cowardly teenage girl was the heroine meant to save the world. I use to feel like an outcast myself but having a story like Sailor Moon in my life, I felt that no matter what, I could accomplish anything. Thru her, I felt empowered in my own life. I've made many friends thru Sailor Moon. I love collecting Sailor Moon merchandise and cosplaying characters from the series. Knowing she is back is a dream come true!

I started attending anime conventions thanks to SM. I met fantastic people over the years. Dub voice actors put in so much effort and passion to make their characters come alive. I spoke to them to share my love about their characters. Doing so was constantly a highlight. I had always wished to meet voice actors from Japan.
Toru Furuya fulfilled my wish! The first Japanese voice actor I heard I was able to meet at long last! He was so amiable. Of course, my meeting wasn't complete without my request for his Tuxedo Mask transformation!

As a child, I was both a victim and instigator of bullying. By middle school, I suffered from depression and contemplated suicide. Sailor Moon was a bright spark in my life. I printed pictures I found online, collecting them in a binder, and even drew my own by repeatedly pausing VHS tapes on an image while I sketched. My brother bought me the RPG book, and I've clung to its now-battered pages. Earlier this year, I waited 3 hours to get it signed by 4 of the voice actors. It is my most prized possession.

Sailor Moon was what pulled me into the world of anime. I met many of my friends due to our love of it. It's my childhood, but it's much more than that. Sailor Moon is friendship. It's the power of love. It's being yourself. It's being courageous, not just for yourself, but others. It's being kind to others, even villains. It's never giving up, even with the odds stacked against you. Usagi didn't start out as a hero, she grew into it and I grew up with her. The lessons it teaches are ones that will last for millenniums.

Sailor Moon not only changed my life when I saw it in HS, but has become a way of life for me. I go out of my way to find items from the series as well as having drawn the characters more items than I have even more own characters. I go to conventions to try and meet Japanese and English voices and it is my dream to show Takeuchi sensei my work as an artist. Sailor Moon, quite honestly, means the world to me and I want the world to see how much I love it, always have.

I used to be extremely shy and had no confidence in myself. Everyday I would come home from school and watch Sailor Moon to cheer me up. Usagi and her friends were the only "friends" I had. I wanted to be a voice actress, but I thought I wasn't very good. But since Usagi gained confidence over time, I knew I could too. I knew I couldn't give up. Usagi taught me that dreams are important and you should never give up on what you love. Now, I'm happier than ever and closer to my dream. Thank you, Sailor Moon!

Ami was always my favorite character. I thought she was so cool because she was brains of the team. Ever since I first saw Ami use her handheld computer, I said to myself that I wanted to get a career that dealt with computers when I grow up. Now, I got my bachelor's degree in computer engineering technology, and I'm pursuing a career in programming and software quality assurance testing.
